Description:

Seale's map has some Kino data probably gleaned from Fer's versions. However, California is still an island and the route of the Colorado River is actually that of the Gila River. Fer continues portraying fanciful details from Baron Lahontan's romantic tale of his 1688-90 travels west of the upper Mississippi River. Seale (1732-1785) was a London engraver and draughtsman.
