Statewide coverage of 1870 American Indian Reservations. Reservation boundaries cross into the adjacent states. For example, the Navajo Nation crosses into New Mexico. Population data is from the Annual Report of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
Purpose
To use in GIS systems for historical study and analysis. This datasets is made available to interested persons through the University of Arizona's instance of Open Geoportal. It has been provided to assist educators, students, researchers, and policy makers in mapping and/or analysis applications.
